Arkansas Insurance Quotes

Arkansas OMV tracks all auto liability insurance policies across the state. Insurance companies report their auto policies directly to the state database which compares vehicle identification numbers (VIN) to active policies. If your VIN doesn't match a policy on file, you are operating your vehicle illegally.

When you register a car or transfer a title in Arkansas, you must provide proof of auto liability insurance on your vehicle.

By law, you must carry at lease the following minimum liability insurance:

  • $25,000 per person for bodily injury
  • $50,000 per accident
  • $25,000 to cover property damage

Your insurance card is required if you get pulled over by the police. You must carry it at all times. It will be required at a traffic stop or if you have an accident.

The Arkansas Office of Motor Vehicles keeps a current list of all insurance coverage for every registered vehicle. The OMV is notified within 30 days of your policy lapse if you fail to make payment or cancel the policy.

Without valid insurance, your registration will be suspended. You'll have to prove that you do have liability insurance before your registration is reinstated
